    The scam point is so true especially for me as I started losing motivation after seeing the " only way to make money is to tell people how to make money" comment everywhere, I thought people were not actually getting successful by following the process but by making us fools. I thought there was no way I could reach there as I didn't have the resources they did, and this perspective limited my growth for a long but thanks to Dan I am back on track again.

I love identifying the overlap, amplifying and of course, helping others. Creator here- always have been and know there is no other option. Stagnation is (a sad) death. Best, *A.

    Dan Koe for president?? Lol I cannot believe you give us this stuff for free sometimes! Your book is also one of the best I've read in 15 years as an entrepreneur! About to be going on biz number three, and these concepts have me exiting the second one, not as a failure, but in a smart way. I let the first one dissolve into the second one, and your concepts also had me thinking differently about a better way to treat the actual business itself as an asset this second time around, so I can capitalize on all of its value. Glad to be in this renaissance at the same time as a brilliant mind like yours! 🙌

    THANK YOU Dan. I feel like I was meant to find this video. I've been struggling my whole life with anxious thoughts that I'm too much of a jack of all trades, but master of none. Every time I get put onto a singular track like when I went to college majoring in Biology, and then Sociology, and then Environmental Studies, I always feel like I get boxed in and I can feel the immense weight of the opportunity cost crushing me more and more until I just lose interest and drift around to other things. I have a very diverse set of interests like traveling, fitness, e-Commerce, self-improvement, EDM, and politics, but never figured out how all of these connect. I've been told my whole life to just become a specialist in one thing, but I always got the feeling that the opportunity cost was too high and that there would always be someone who could outcompete me so I could never just focus on one thing. However, this video has given me a fresh perspective. You have no idea how much confidence this video has given me. 🙏

    Yes, its as if God says: "what can you create?" (Perhaps "and share" goes along w it) And this seems more and more to be what society is asking of each other. The internet, a portal into and platform for these creations. Yes each of is has a unique lens, perspective, that gives the ability of unique creations. Just a matter of figuring out what you will create. Or maybe you already are, and just have to share. Could argue that perspective itself is a form of creation. I'm personally most drawn to the perspectives of others, to have a glimpse of life through their screen. This is a rabbit hole.

    I am a 10+ year Marketing "generalist" in the corporate environment. My most recent company closed and lost my job as a result. Now I am STRUGGLING to find a job for 6+ months as a generalist. Everyone wants a specialist. I am picking a niche now and mastering it.

    • @ronzco

      That's the very reason for the "employment" scenario which Dan has already emphasized in his philosophy. The idea is to build yourself as a one-person business and get out of the 9-5 grind.

    • @cz_ar
      @cz_ar 5 годин тому

      @@ronzco you need capital to start a business. You need to work to raise that capital. Businesses take years to kick off. The vast majority of people will be employees and the “generalist” jack of all trades master of none approach isn’t valuable in my experience

    • @ronzco
      @ronzco 5 годин тому

      @@cz_ar well, in that case, the opposite is true for your situation. That's completely experiential alongside your belief system. You do you. You decide for yourself and choose your own path. The video is about another path that might help or might not help. Again, the whole point of the video is based upon his overall philosophy (if you've been following/watching him, you'll understand)--building and working towards creating your own business--you have the control for what kind of work you wanna do, you get to choose what makes you creative and monetize along the way. Unlike being an employee, you really need to specialize because that's what companies are looking for in the corporate world with an 'employee/employment' mindset. Best of luck for you. 🍻

    • @mysterysauce69
      @mysterysauce69 4 години тому

      @@cz_ar 1. specialize in a certain skill 2. find income source according to it 3. generalize in a few more skills 4. leverage a business by combining those skills 5. And well keep learning and stack failures while stacking skills you'll get somewhere better

  • @thetomschaeffer
    @thetomschaeffer 10 годин тому

    A spiritual war of beliefs? You lost me there. Agree with much of this but it's also assuming someone is interesting enough to build an audience solely on themselves. And I would say that if you want to build a lifestyle business and free yourself from the 9-5, pick a service that you either know well, want to learn, and that is highly sought after.

    I feel like this video was legit made for me. 2 weeks ago I quit League of Legends I was a Katarina OTP, I was 2nd or 3rd best Katarina on the Server (Grandmaster rank) , 3 months ago I started streaming on twitch, I realized that there are people better than me and it would take so much time and effort to get there that it's not worth it, even though I always had the never give up mentality, I spent 9 years on and off while in school playing that game. Right now, I'm 19. Today I watched your 1m skill stack video, was thinking of watching a lot of tutorials on many skills but that would keep me away from failure because I wouldn't create my own brand and anything of my own (wouldn't practice those skills by doing.) Also, I've realized that all my life I've been very interested in Fitness, Psychology, Nutrition, Gaming, I find it interesting how similar it is to you. While playing a lot of league of legends and going to the gym, I somehow still managed to get really good grades in school especially in math. Even with good grades in school I still decided to not go the traditional route, I had some hope in League of Legends. I quit League because I wanted to pursue some kind of business, which seemed way more profitable with my confidence I generated by becoming exceptional at League. 10 days ago I started consuming copywriting content, have a goal of getting the skills to start working as a copywriter for businesses, so maybe I can finally get good source of income. Building a generalist brand would be something new for me, I feel like I don't have the skills for that yet, I'm delaying it for now. I'm a beginner copywriter haven't made any money yet, my skills need to get improved. I fear having this big goal similar to yours might not get me anywhere because I would get overwhelmed, it's too quick. I'm still working at a 9-5 job, in the future, if I succeed as a copywriter and improve my business knowledge, maybe I'll get there. But I need to reach failure in each skill, my problem is I'm trying to learn so much without actually doing and failing. I fear that I will get overwhelmed and get stuck, but reality will show me. I'm only 19 all the advice you give seems real. 👍

      Discovering all of this so fast is very overwhelming in my case, I understand that this process takes years. I'm just not sure exactly where to start, I feel like it's best to stick to copywriting for now and eventually scale (hopefully).
